Salary in Banking Industry is governed by the Bipartite
Settlement which is signed between Bank Employee’s/Officer’s Trade Union and
Indian Bank’s Association. Here Trade Unions represent the Employee’s /Officer’s
trade Union/Association and Indian Bank’s Association represents the Bank
Management and Government.
Bank Salary is subject to revision after every 5th year. Present salary structure in Banking Industry is governed by the 11th Bipartite Settlement/Joint Note which was signed on 08.03.2024 effective from 01.11.2022

Regulation 5(b)- "Officers in Scale I and Scale II, one year after reaching the maximum in their respective scales, shall be granted further increments including stagnation increments in the next higher scale only as specified under subject to their crossing the efficiency bar as per guidelines of the Government."

(2) Stagnation Increments:
Officers in JM Grade Scale I who have moved to scale of pay for MMG Scale II in terms of Regulation 5(b) after reaching maximum of the higher scale shall be eligible for seven stagnation increments for every two completed years of service of which first two shall be ₹2680/- each and next five shall be ₹2980/- each w.e.f. 01.11.2022.
Officers in MMG Scale II who have moved to scale of pay for MMG Scale
III in terms of Regulation 5(b) after reaching maximum of higher scale shall be
eligible for seven stagnation increments of ₹2980/- which will be released
after every two completed years of service after reaching maximum on the higher
scale w.e.f. 01.11.2022.
Officers in substantive MMG Scale III i.e. those who are recruited in or
promoted to MMG Scale III shall be eligible for eight stagnation increments.
First four stagnation increment of ₹2980/- each and next four shall be of ₹3360/-
each and shall be released after every two completed years of service w.e.f.
01.11.2022.
Officers in SMGS-IV shall be eligible for five stagnation increment.
First stagnation incre ment of ₹3360/- and next four shall be of ₹3680/- each
and shall be released after every two completed years of service w.e.f.
01.11.2022.
Officers in SMGS-V shall be eligible for four stagnation increment of ₹4000/- each two years after reaching the maximum of scale w.e.f. 01.11.2022.
Officers in SMGS-VI shall be eligible for three stagnation increment of which first two stagnation increment shall be of ₹4000/- each and third shall be of ₹4340/- and shall be released after every two completed years of service.
Officers in SMGS-VII shall be eligible for three stagnation increments of ₹4340/- each two years after reaching the maximum of scale w.e.f. 01.11.2022.
(3) Increments for completion of JAIIB and CAIIB:
W.e.f. 01.11.2022 one increments shall be granted to all the officers for completing JAIIB and additional two increments shall be granted for completing CAIIB.
(4) Dearness Allowance:
W.e.f. 01.11.2022, DA shall be payable @1.00% of pay per percentage point of Index.

(5) Special Allowance:
With the signing of 10th Bipartite Settlement, IBA has introduced an allowance called Special Allowance which is calculated as a % of basic pay per month. DA is also payable on Special Allowance. Special Allowance is not eligible for any retirement benefits.

(6) Fixed Personal Pay:
Fixed personal pay is payable to the employees who were in Bank's service as on 01.11.1993. It is payable to the officers who are provided with Bank's accommodation. It is payable after reaching maximum in his pay scale as per the following limit:

(7) Professional Qualification Pay (PQP):
(i) Those who have passed only JAIIB (CAIIB –I)
- ₹1370/- p.m. one year after reaching top of the scale.
(ii) Those who have passed CAIIB (CAIIB–II)
- PQP-I: ₹1370/- p.m. one year after reaching top of the scale.
- PQP-II: ₹3425/- p.m. two years after reaching top of the scale.
- PQP-III: ₹5480/- p.m. three years after reaching top of the scale.
(8) House Rent Allowance:

(10) Location Allowance (NON-CCA Centers)
Effective 01.11.2022, a fixed allowance of ₹1200/- is payable to all the officers posted in areas other than the areas that are eligible for CCA. This fixed allowance shall not be reckoned for payment of DA, superannuation benefits, viz, pension including DCPS, PF and Gratuity.
(11) Learning Allowance:
All officers shall be paid Learning Allowance of ₹850/- together with applicable DA theron. This fixed allowance shall not be reckoned for payment of DA, superannuation benefits, viz, pension including DCPS, PF and Gratuity.

(15) Eye Check-up allowance:
All employees shall be allowed reimbursement of ₹500/- per year towards annual eye check-up
(16) Recovery of House/Furniture Rent:
- House
rent recovery
shall be @ 0.35 % of the first stage of the scale of pay in
which the officer is placed or the standard rent for the accommodation,
whichever is less.
- Furniture rent recovery shall be @ 0.075% of the first stage of the scale of pay in which the officer is placed.
(17) Leave Travel Concession (LTC):
During each block of 4 years, an officer shall be eligible for leave travel concession for travel to his place of domicile once in each block of two years. Alternatively, he may travel in one block of two years to his place of domicile and in another block of two years to any place in India by the shortest route. (20) Officiating Pay:
W.e.f. 01.04.2024, an officer, who is officiating in a higher scale post for a minimum 4 days at a time or an aggregate of 4 days during the calendar month, shall receive an officiating pay equal to 15% of his basic pay on pro rata basis for the period for which he officiates.
(21) Closing Allowance:
W.e.f. 01.04.2024, closing allowance shall be paid at a rate of ₹1500/- per quarter payable to officers.
(22) Mid Academic Year Transfer Allowance:
Mid academic year transfer allowances shall be payable at ₹2500/- p.m. per child with a maximum up to 2 children
